According to the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development Bureau of Apprenticeship Standards (Wisconsin DWD-BAS), over 3,000 employers are currently involved in Wisconsin apprenticeship. These employers train thousands of registered apprentices annually in around 200 occupations, with new occupations approved regularly as employment needs shift over time.

Nicolet College kicked off its Indigenous Way of Knowing program today with a powwow. The event marked the first powwow in quite some time that many of the participants have attended because of the pandemic. It didn't get in the way of the dancing, drumming, storytelling and singing that took place all day long. Participants in these activities came from various tribes across the state as all 11 federally recognized tribes in Wisconsin were represented at the powwow. Organizers say they see this as merely the first of what will become an annual tradition.
