Description

Work Description 
As a Dental Assistant Apprentice, you'll work directly with dental professionals while learning on the job. Gain valuable skills like preparing equipment, sterilizing tools, and assisting during procedures. Learn the essential administrative tasks that keep the office running smoothly, such as scheduling appointments, managing records, and handling insurance billing and coding.

Working Conditions 
Work in professional dental office settings where you'll stay actively engaged throughout the day. Tasks may involve periods of sitting and standing, as well as handling dental tools and materials. You'll gain experience working safely with patients and various dental care materials, contributing to a clean and efficient environment.

Training

  • 7 credits of in-person education
  • 1,240 hours of on-the-job training

Application Requirements

  • Completion of a criminal background check
  • Pre-entrance health history and physical exam
  • Dental exam
  • CPR certification
  • Proof of vaccination and immunizations required by OSHA
  • CMS standards for dental offices
