This degree equips you with the knowledge and skills to repair, reconstruct , and refinish vehicles in various transportation fields. Your hands-on training will give you the skills you need for repairing and replacing both steel and aluminum body panels, removing and installing interior and exterior vehicle parts, repairing and replacing plastic and composite parts, damage analysis, analyzing and straightening structural damage, welding, and refinishing. Upon graduation, you'll be qualified for entry-level employment positions at automotive dealerships, independent repair shops, or self-employment as a collision repair and refinish technician. Other career options include working as an insurance adjuster/appraiser, transportation manufacturing jobs, or pursuing a position as a shop manager, collision center owner, or technical instructor. You may also transfer credits to a four-year college to further your education.
